Director Oliver Stone presents us with a tale of sex, drugs, violence and, well, more sex, drugs and violence. Starring Aaron Johnson, Salma Hayek, Taylor Kitsch and the gorgeous Blake Lively, the film sees entrepreneurs Ben (Johnson) and his closest friend Chon (Kitsch), a former Navy SEAL and ex-mercenary, run a lucrative, homegrown marijuana business that’s the best ever developed. They also share a one-of-a-kind love with the extraordinary Ophelia (Lively). Life is idyllic in their Southern California town until the Mexican Baja Cartel decides to move in and demands that the trio partners with them and they refuse.

What? Cocktail making
Where? Comfort of your house
When? At la weekend

Two of life’s most beautiful, consumable inventions collide in this recipe that is to die for. Featuring chocolate and alcohol, this special martini isn’t just for the girls. Thanks to BBC Food recipes, our taste buds are going to be awfully satisfied tomorrow night!
Ingredients (serves 4, reading in 15 mins)
  • 200ml gin or vodka
  • 50g dark chocolate (70 per cent cocoa solids)
  • 100ml chocolate liqueur, try Black Mozart available from specialist off-licences and thedrinkshop.com
  • Crushed ice
Method
1.    Measure the gin or vodka in a jug. Melt the chocolate and pour into the alcohol, whisking all the time, until smoothly blended. Add the chocolate liqueur.
2.    For each cocktail, shake 100ml of the chocolate liquid with crushed ice and strain into a martini glass. Decorate with a curl of lemon zest.
Tips
When melting chocolate there are two basic rules to avoid it seizing (becoming thick, gritty and unworkable): don’t overheat it and don’t let water get into the chocolate bowl. Either melt chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over (not in) a pan of simmering water or give it 20-second blasts in the microwave, stirring between each one to re-distribute the heat.
